My epididymitis started when I had hernia surgery. After going through exactly what you are going thru and being told it is nothing, it will get better, blah, blah, blah, my regular doc sent me to an outstanding surgeon for a 2nd opinion that was not part of our medical group. (I work in a huge medical facility with 170 specialists.) He was excellent and told me this: During the surgery they put mesh in to repair the tear. The mesh is pressed into the inguinal canal where your sperm tube, lymph tube, and nerves go through. The mesh was apparently too much for the size of the opening and it pinched off the sperm tube and lymph tubes. And irritated the nerves.
The lymph fluid didn't flow correctly and fluids backed up. My scrotum swelled and places on my lymph system hurt. The second surgeon said I had been screwed up bad enough he wouldn't operate to remove the mesh. He did nerve blocks and prescribed anti imflamm and exercises to reduce that inflammation. It worked VERY slowly. After I found this web site, I did the herb thing and it went down very quickly. My surgeon was very encouraged and told me to use the fenugreek and bromelain rather than the drugs. I am not perfect, but with the lifestyle changes and the correct jocky shorts, and the maintenance herb routine, I am 99% normal. I have setbacks but they are manageable. (Today my testicle hurts pretty badly. But it should soon be better. Probably because I jacked off last night. I haven't found the exact right combo for me yet. Ejac too much flares things up and waiting until I have a nocturnal ejac flares it up too. Also, arousal without ejec really screws me up.) So yes, I do believe it is very much connected to the lymph system. Especially because the treatment for helping the lymph system worked when the drugs for infection didn't at all. So take what the doctors tell you with lots of wisdom and caution. Remember, it is your body and balls, not the physicians, and they do not really understand. Even though I have an excellent surgeon and urologist. they keep saying maybe the only thing to do is testicle removal, but that has terrible success rate. Well I am not about to do something the surgeon feels has a terrible success rate. So combining the advice of the doctors and the advice on here, I have found a happy medium and it seems to work well. Remember, ask questions, and read, read, read the stuff on this site. No question is too dumb to ask. We know you pain and understand what you are going thru. (Friday will be one year I have had this wonderful condition....) Email me if you have questions. |
