Hi Mike - I wish I could tell you the difference. I too have recurring EP for almost ten years now and my spells seem to be both: acute and chronic. I first injured my EP playing softball in 1994. I had all tests done, STD tests, ultrasounds, cystocopy, needle to the EP, kidney Xrays. Everything came back negative. I was told this is not a big deal and it should burn out over time. Some months are bearable and some are a living hell. I've been in real bad shape since February. If anything, my relapses seem to be getting WORSE. I thought after these many years, they would be a little easier. I am in a nasty funk right now of constant pain. I am taking Fenu\Fennel, Bromelain, and stuffing 800mg Ibuprofens down my throat every six hours. Nothing seems to be helping lately. I copied the medicinal definition of Acute from the dictionary. Hope this helps. Do my symptoms and pattern sound familiar to anyone out there? Any help is appreciated. I have no idea what to do at this point. I keep thinking it has to get better some time, and it seems to be doing the opposite. Thanks. Mike Acute: Having a rapid onset and following a short but severe course: acute disease. Afflicted by a disease exhibiting a rapid onset followed by a short, severe course: acute patients. |
