I would not discourage BUT.... I work in a large regional medical clinic that was started years ago by two Mayo doctors who moved home to California. In February, a urologist moved here from Mayo clinic. (My next appt is Sep7) He has told me that there is very little to do. He said he always dreaded seeing men like we are as there was so little to do for them. One of his first questions was "Are you on antibiotics? If so, get off of them as after a couple of weeks, they make you feel worse than any good they may do."

He was very encouraged when I told him about this website and said to do what guys say. He said I might get as much good from this as I will from conventional medicine since they do not have much to offer except wait it out, do optional surgeries (that have poor success rates), or try different types of drugs.

So there are good docs at Mayo (at least was till he moved here!), it is just they may not offer an instant fix.
