Hey Doc! I would like your opinion on some of my observations. This is my second bout with E and prostatitis (P) in 10 years. 10 years ago I was given 10 days of Floxin, this time 30 days of Levaquin. In both cases the antibiotics had no effect and I now seem to be healing slowly on my own. These powerful flouroquinolins seem to do more damage than good. They weaken your natural immune system and, in my case, shut down the production of hormones (testosterone). Question 1: Do these drugs taken for an extended period tend to decrease production of male hormones? Question 2: I now view both E and P as a viral infection of the genitalia. Just like the common cold, only rest, proper nutrition and the body's natural defenses can cure it (until they can cure viral infections with meds). The strong antibiotics so commonly prescribed are a deterrent to the healing process. What's your opinion on this theory? |
