I really question how often surgery benefits epididymitis, if ever. In any case, I think it is usually the wrong course of action unless the diagnosis is well defined as being one that will benefit from surgery. But the most important thing, now that you had it done, is to track down the pathology report and see what it shows. Did they find inflammation? Infection? Did they do cultures and tests for microbes? I would get the copy of the original path report. And see if they saved the slides for a second opinion. My best.
