Hello people,
Although I have been experiencing a slide discomfort two weeks ago for some days, I am still 95%-100% pain free. Thanks for all your kind replies. Regarding some questions I have read, I just want to post a few details about the fenugreek/fennel combo I am using. I did order regular capsules of both herbs and started taking 3 capsules of fenugreek 3 times per day and 2 capsules of fennel per day. After 2 weeks, when the pain was gone completely I reduced the dosage to 2 capsules 2 times a day for fenugreek and only 1 capsule of fennel per day. However, I have to note that I am living in Greece. We have here a kind of dried meat (Greek speciality) which is called pasturma. This meat is completely covered with a thick layer the composition of which I do not know. What I know however is that the main substance of it is homogenized fenugreek seeds. It seems that the active substance in the layer of this meat is much higher than in the capsules I am using. I can tell this based on how my whole body smells after 1-2 days. Taking only the capsules (even the higher dosage) the smell is moderate. If you eat however I small amount of this meat you will be surprised how strong your will smell the day after. You will definitely need 2 showers per day for a couple of days in order to be able to approach people in a 1meter radius. During the last 4 years, when I had my ep episodes I was eating occasionally this meat. Thinking now back I can remember (at least for some instances) that shortly after eating the meat I was always feeling a bit better. At this time however I did not make the connection. Only after reading about the fenugreek/fennel combo and starting a regular intake of these herbs I realized why I was feeling better after eating the meat. So, apart from taking the capsules I do also eat now regularly pasturma. So, there is definitely a connection between fenugreek and the chronic ep syndrome. This is however my story. I know that many of you will not benefit from it. Nevertheless, its worth to give it a try. Good luck to all of you. |
