so i *think* that my ep is over, at least the ur's and my gp no longer see any infection in my urine. so i have been in pain for going on 3 months now. in the past few weeks, i have been experiencing intermittent pain in my abdomen, just below the beltline, on each side, but not on the same side at the same time. the pain is sharp and only happens when i walk too much or downhill (and i have been taking it really easy for the past two months). the pain will be in the abdomen and then 3 or 4 hours later, i will experience severe pain in my testicle. the side that the abdominal pain is on will be the same side/testicle that will begin to severely hurt. the teste will more or less not hurt after about 12 hours. my gp took a look at me yesterday and said that there is a chance that i may have a hernia that was not detected by the usual poke/cough mehtod. so i am wondering- if in fact i got a hernia to start off with, can that same straining motion that caused the hernia also cause ep at the same time? i am also experiencing some kidney pain, UR's ultrasound has not yeilded any stones or gravel. but the abdomen pain sucks. can ep and hernias go hand-in-hand? i also have been urinating like crazy in the past week. sometimes 3 times an hour. is it possible for this abdominal pain to be caused by a bladder infection? i did get another urinalysis done the other day, and am waiting for the culture to reveal the diagnosis. thanks to your suggestions, i am traveling to see dr kaufman in nyc next week. hopefully i will finally get some answers. thanks much for any input, i am very grateful for all the things that i have encountered on this board, it seems like that the doctors can learn more from the board than they can anywhere else. john |
