Well, I've never had a vasectomy, so maybe I'm not qualified to speak here, but since no one else has replied yet, I felt kinda compelled to say something here...
In my opinion, MC, you are relying far too heavily on doctors, their dangerous drugs, and invasive surgical procedures. If you want to continue letting them carve you up like a roast until there's nothing left down there, of course that's your decision. Just remember that once you slice into living tissue with a scalpel, it will *never* be the same again. It seems to me like all the post vasectomy complications I've read about on other epid. boards are a perfect example of that. There are more nerve endings in that part of the body than anywhere else, so I'm afraid I don't really understand how you can let someone slice into that with a knife and then expect it to *not* hurt... > if I want, in two weeks he could do a Yes, I'm sure that's always the prevailing opinion when nothing else seems to work. Just cut it right outta there, regardless of any possible damage to surrounding tissues, without giving the body a chance to even *try* to heal the problem on its own... > his credentials had "surgeon" in them. In my opinion, that would be the *worst* person to possibly ask! Of course a *surgeon* is going to *want* to cut...! > He said the surgery is effective and has done many. Yes, of course he would say that, just like any other good salesman. He has a service he's trying to sell you... > He has had 3 leakers in his career. Yes, and have you spoken with these men? Are they still as optimistic as the surgeon about the procedure? Like Clint Eastwood said, do you feel lucky, punk? Do you feel like playing the odds? Will it still be worth it if things *don't* turn out the way you hope? There are no guarantees on anything in life... > the body would attack the sperm and Exactly... Given enough time, the human body can heal almost *anything*. The hard part with something chronic like this is finding the patience to wait it out, rather than jumping the gun out of sheer desperation into the promise of something that sounds too good to be true... > I still need to be completely rid of the inflammation. Believe me, I completely understand your frustration on that point. That desire is something that I'm sure every man on this board desperately wishes for every single day... > My brother in law had the exact same thing happen Yes! That sounds like a game plan to me! A "whole year" might sound like a long time to wait for something right now, but try thinking about it looking back from two years down the road from now, or maybe ten years... It won't seem like very long then. I'm speaking from experience here. I had a very severe case of chronic epididymitis 19 years ago which took almost a year to finally heal. Looking back at that now is the only way I'm making it through this time. (Three months and counting...) Well, I'm really sorry if I've sounded blunt and insensitive here. I'm not angry with you personally, MC. I just think you really need to think about the consequences more carefully before you make what could very well be a drastically life-altering decision. I know you haven't walked in my shoes, so you have no way of knowing how it feels when you *do* wind up being one of those unlucky statistics that the doctors simply brush aside when they can no longer make any money off you and you realize you're simply lucky to have even survived the encounter at all. I've just gotten really sick and tired of seeing people's lives being ruined by doctors, who are getting disgustingly rich from other people's pain and suffering, whether they happen to get better or not. If you ask me, the Hippocratic Oath to "first do no harm" has become twisted into the biggest, most disgusting piece of hypocrisy I've ever seen in my life. Well, okay, I'm climbing down off the soapbox now...! |
