When I first was aware of my epididymitis, it was when I looked down and saw a big lump (my inflamed (epididy head. I also was feeling sick. I had some tenderness then, but not real pain until later on. I went to the ER because I was scared ****-less. That's when my several-month ordeal began, and continues. I'm not sure what good an ultra sound will do. My tesitcle was also enlarged and I had a burning red patch on my scrotum on the affected side. After many courses of antibiotics, my testicle is back to normal size, the lump is gone, but the pain and tenderness persist. I'm not sure what your ultrasound will show, if anything, but if it rules out testicular cancer, it may be worth it.
