Just be very careful about what you do, and remember that there is hope, and more help is on the way. We will get organized here and eventually get money for research. In the meantime, I am worried that you might undergo surgery and be worse off than you are now. If you search the net and talk to men, and even see some posts here, I think you will see that worsening of smptoms after surgery has happened. In some men, symptoms have sort of burned out and gone away with time. Be very, very cautious about surgery. Have you had all the different kinds of chlamydia tests? The CDC says that chlamydia is the number one cause of epididymitis in young men your age. If it was me, I would want my urine tested for chlamydia, my urethra tested for chlamydia, and my prostatic fluid tested for chlamydia. I would want fluorescent antibody tests and DNA tests. Then if it is found, there is the problem of can chlamydia be treated adequately? And, if it is not chlamydia, there are several other things that need to be looked into. One always has to ask, has everything really been investigated? I hope to come up with the most complete work-up possible, and post it here, at some point.
Good luck.
