I think you are right on the stress angle. I have suffered from anxiety/stress since my dad passed away nearly 30 years ago. I have just been prescribed amitriptyline because I asked for a muscle relaxant in the hope that this might help my condition (i.e. in case the inflammation was being caused by muscle fibres). I am only on a light dose but as this drug is an antidepressant it might help with the stress side as well.
