Well, I've been to two general surgeons that have ruled out hernia and had an abdominal and kidney ultrasound that has ruled out the stone theory.

My uro wants to do a cyto and a ultrasound of my prostate before he does the varicolectomy.

One of the three urologists that I saw said I may have bi lateral collapsing varicies and the current uro, at first wanted to perform a varicolectomy on both sides but has now opted just to do the left side where the varicocele is the largets (over 3mm)

The white blood cell count in my prostetic fluid (acquired by doing a digital rectal exam which I hate..) has diminshed significantly.

Here's the question;
My prostate according to my GP is not "remarkably" large and have no pain in my perinium. After having sex, it seems I haven't had a "flare up" in a while, just general discomfort while sitting and the discomfort switching from side to side during the course of the day.

I'm thinking of leaving everything up to chance and havnig the uro do the varicolectomy.

I think I read somewhere that sometimes a varicocele can cause pain bi-laterally.

Anyone ever read anything that might suggest this?
