Tuberculosis epididymitis is considered to be rare. On the other hand, if you test for the common things and don't find them, you are supposed to go on and test for the rare things. It does happen: Tuberculosis as a cause of chronic epididymo-orchitis in a male caucasian.Hosp Med. 2000 Sep;61(9):670-1. McVie JL, Bani-Hani K, Bury RW, Duthie R, Walker SJ. Tuberculosis in humans is caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis, or Mycobacterium bovis. There are many things that could be tested for, but from what I am hearing, typcially medical doctors do none, or a few, and then stop. Not enough studies are being done about the following short list for example. Chlamydia pneumoniae Chlamydia trachomatis Mycoplasma genitalium 1 Mycoplasma genitalium 2 Mycoplasma pneumoniae Ureaplasma species |
