If I may say so, be careful with alcohol and this problem, particularly beer. I'm not saying it is a factor in your case, but I discovered consumption of beer played a contributory factor in mine. In fact my Epididymitis didn't begin until shortly after I began to consume beer on a fairly grand scale. It took me many years to link this association as well.
Funny though, other types of alcohol don't seem to have any effect where epididymitis is concerned. Here in Ireland there is the famous 'Guinness',and it doesn't seem to cause any problems - apart from the usual hangover of course!
