I suspect that I may have epididymitis.

It started with a mild burning irritation when peeing. I went to the genitourinary medicine clinic to get checked out. I thought it could be a urinary tract infrection but all of the tests were negative, examination was normal. I was given a tube of Canestan cream as there was some dryness. This didn't cure the problem. A few weeks later one of my testicles started to feel tender and ache if I put any pressure on it, for example lying down on my front. I still had a mild irritation passing urine. I went to see my GP and he thought it could be epididymitis. We tried treating it with 14 days of Trimethoprim, that didn't work but on the 3rd and 4th days of treatment my testicle felt numb.

I returned to my GP and he recommended Ciprofloxacin however I am concerned about taking this drug as I previously had a bad reaction to Levofloxacin and still have tendonitis as a result of taking. The other option is Nitrofurantoin but I can't find a lot of information about its use for epididymitis on the net. Any advice?
