You are asking very good questions. Despite the fact that many tests have been developed that could help diagnose exactly what organism, if indeed there is an organism, is causing epididymitis, they are usually ignored. Many guesses are made about what then to treat epididymitis with. You might want to look at the Centers for Disease Control web site on Epididymitis treatment.
