my story-
i am 20yrs old in january this year i was on a kayaking trip in uganda,i got bitten on my left testicle one night(dont know what by) in my tent, the next morning i passed out at breakfast and got a fever which got worse all day untill i was taken to hospital thinking i had maleria, i spent 2 nights in hospital and my left testicle went absolutly huge, i was given a short cycle of antibotitics but the problem came back 1 week lqter when i came off the medication, since i got back to england i have been on various medication such as cpro and doxy but after i come off the pain has returned and alternates between testicles, i have had ultrasounds which showed slight infection and the docs belived the bite injured my scrutom which lead to epididimitis at the end of may i was coming back from a kayaking trip in the states and had just finished a 6week dose of cypro a couple of days ago, on the plane on the way home the syptoms came back and worse, i was in terrible pain, i had a big fever, was being sick and the pain had moved up to my stomach and was to painfull to sit up, the plane stopped in phili and i stayed a week in the hospital there while i was overlooked by about 6 doctors, my cultures have not shown anything and i was sent back to england with a 2mounth dose of Levoflaxin it is now 5 mounths since the initual outbrake and i am worried, the doctors just seem to fob me off and not give me proper answers, after reading previous posts i realise that this is a long scale problem with no guarenteed cures questions have other people found that the relapses have got worse over time? how have people founnd the sucsess rate of long term antibotics? is it possible to carry on with sport and exercise or does it just infame epididmitis? does having sex worsen the case or slow down the heeling? thanks for spending the time for reading the post and any advice would be greatly apreciated as i am a little overwhelemd by the current situation and its impacts on my way of life, Tom, |
