Hey, I woke up one morning nearly 2 yrs ago with a feaver, tried the usual panadol and stuff but then noticed a pain in my right testicle. By the time i reached the hospital panicking about torsion and perhaps the prospect of having a testicle removed i was a shivering mess with a temp of 43+c. To cut a long story short I had now begun to swell rapidly to the size of an orange. I was diagnosed with epididmitis and started on intravenus Cyproxin, 2 weeks later all seemed well but after a week off the Cyproxin I had a reoccurance, I recommenced Cyproxin at 750 mgs bd and stayed on it for 6 weeks. It took almost 12 months for the swelling to fully subside and even then the area felt lumpier than it ever was previously all the tubes and veins in there seem to be enlarged. Anyways as I write this I have just yesterday felt the familiar twinge and on examination I can feel other lumps and or blockages in there I assume its the start of the same thing. Here we go on the Cyproxin again as a health professional i cringe at the trillions of dollars spent by the god complex medicos when all they are really giving us is a best guess answer.
