Here's the thing....just because you're still in pain doesn't mean you still have an infection.

I think my infection was cured somewhere between two and three months in. Yet I was kept on antibiotics until around five months because the symptoms weren't going away.

I think that being put on corticosteroids (Prednisone) only unbalanced my inflammatory-response system further, and kept the problem going after it seemed to "go away" shortly after coming off Prednisone.

But antibiotics badly unbalanced my system well before that. I had an allergic reaction to one, and several of the others were clearly hard on my body.

There is a point at which antibiotics will provide no further benefit, and can cause tremendous harm -- for chronic cases, this comes WAY before there's much chance of your symptoms getting noticeably better.
