So I just went to the urologist, who gave me a transrectal ultrasound...not much fun, if you can imagine. At our initial consultation a month ago, he said he wanted to do an ultrasound because he believed the most likely cause of my ball pain was an obstruction up in the prostate area.
Wouldn't you know...the ultrasound showed that my left ejaculatory duct was all obstructed and inflamed (of course, the pain is in the right ball). He wrote a diagnosis of chronic prostatitis on my chart, and prescribed a four week course of floxin (initially it was Cipro, but I didn't feel comfortable with that so I made him change it). So, if this diagnosis is correct, it means I have been living with undiagnosed prostatitis for well over a year (I am 27). Thank God for modern medicine, eh? The good news: It's not ep. I am not sure which is worse. Back on the merry go round... |
