I've actually started tumeric recently, which is funny for me (I'm not a very herbal sorta guy). But it's likely very safe (it's been used in cooking for centuries) and it has a bunch of health benefits (such as anti-cholesterol) in addition to its anti-inflammation trick.
But as to what to do... The only abx you've tried seems to be doxycycline. That's a swell one for some problems, and useless for many others. - Did you ever have a semen culture? (takes about 2 weeks, but if you've been off abx for at least a month it can be very revealing of what infection you have, if any) - ditto a urine culture (not urine "test")? (might reveal a bug even if you have no urinary symptoms) - ditto an EPS thing (checking doctor squeezed-out prostatic fluid for white blood cells, which imply infection)? If any of that's positive, you might learn what antibiotic would be specific to what you've got. If it's negative, you might try a different class of antibiotic anyway for a month, and if you get better you'll know you're on the right course. Some docs, for example, might have combined doxycycline with Levaquin or something. And ampicillin might cure what those 2 can't touch. Surgery (IMO) is a last resort; and the scary thing is it can have its own side effects, and depending on what's going on with you even surgery isn't 100% sure to elminate your pain. > Its my best guest that years ago, my left epid got I guess everyone's different, but my guess is a week without sex would not harm anyone. "Priest's disease" (as prostatitis was once called) is now considered myth. My guess is males have a built in safety valve: if it doesn't happen while you're away, it can get fixed unconsciously in a wet dream. > misdiagnosed with a varicocele I donno, that would be difficult mistake, no? I think sometimes docs remove varicoceles, hoping to achieve a cure, only to discover the problem was somewhere else. My guess is you had a varicocele but unfortunately it was not the cause of your problems. Bottom line: infection may not be your problem, but you appear not to have completely checked out that possibility. Get dem tests, even if you had them awhile ago. - Carlos |
