On my mother's side, I have a history of strong allergies. But I have fought all my life to be able to manage them and not be one of those "allergic people" if I had any choice in the matter.

I have three cats (and have in the past had as many as seven) in a small, dusty apartment that I can never seem to keep clean. I have developed a fairly strong resistance to my cat/pet dander allergies, and my dust allergies are not too bad considering the environment I'm in....

Perhaps even though I have managed to avoid acute symptoms without the need for allergy treatments, but not some kind of underlying chronic thing?
