I'd definitely skip that procedure if I were you. If you don't have an infection now, you definitely *could* contract one by sticking something up inside of you like that. That happened to my dad one time. He'd never had epididymitis until they installed a catheter during surgery, on another part of the body. We always figured it wasn't sterile and that was how he got the infection.

In other words, if it ain't broke, why go tryin' to fix it? So they go up inside of you looking for scar tissue (possibly dragging germs in with them). Then what? What will they do if they find any? Other than saying, "Yep, you have scar tissue... So go home and send us a check..."
