You ask interesting questions. Usually men with epididymitis still ejaculate. If there is obstruction of the vas along with the epididymitis there might not be any sperm present. Has your BF had a sperm count done? Prostatitis is more associated with prolonged or delayed ejaculation in my mind than epididymitis. Has your BF been tested for that. Does he not ejaculate at all? In any case, his sperm should be able to be harvested by one technique or another for children, although it might be an involved process.
