I agree with what Bill has to say about antibiotics. On the other hand some people may have been cured by them and these people you will probably not have heard of because they won't bother to come onto these boards. My feelings are that if they have failed to help in the past then you are are probably immune to that kind of antibiotic. There are several courses of action you can take.
Firstly build up your immune system as much as possible. My favourites for this are garlic (making sure you get a high allicin content - I use the actual garlic itself and crush it, then put it into soups, stews etc. This way I know I am getting all the benefit. Another is echinacea. I have just read a book about this and the author says that you should get echinacea that only uses the root part and the best kind is echinacea angustifolia. The purpurea variety (which is the most common) is not as efficaceous. Then make sure your body is not over-acidic. I have mentioned this recently. Also take anti-oxidants. Stress and the ageing process can cause cellular damage, which can aggravate any symptoms you have. I use pycnogenol at the moment as well as Vitamin A, C and E and selenium. |
