Yes, I have had two ultra sounds. Both were done by female techs. The first obviously didn't know anything about mens balls. She poked and prodded like your doc.

I hurt extremely bad during the test. And afterwards for several hours I was really nauseated from that pain. I could not get andbody from Radiology to acknowledge it. They are totally painless was all I would hear.

I thought it was the roughness maybe. I asked for a male tech the 2nd time and was told they only have women techs since 95% of ultasounds are done on women. They gave me a different tech and she never hardly touched me. And that time the pain was worse. (That was during the worst period of my pain.)

About 4 doctors later, I was told that the sound waves vibrated the swelling and yes it can really hurt. This was a former Mayo doctor who said he has lots of experience with it.
He told me in 25 minutes what had taken me 8 months and 5 doctors to find out on my own.
