I have been battling Epididymitis since September of 2003. My worst attacks were Sept, Oct, and Nov. Since then the achiness and painful episodes (approximately 12 hours after ejaculation) have been problematic. That was until a couple of weeks ago.

2 weeks ago I was admitted to the hospital to have my appendix removed. While in hospital recovering from surgery, I was on two different types of low grade general antibiotics (via I.V.). For the first time in a long time, everything seemed normal again down there. It was great! I'm now out of the hospital and have been taking it easy at home for a couple of weeks. I'm back to having sex with my wife (yeah!) and there is only minor irritation or discomfort 12 hours later. It usually clears up by the next day.

I'm not sure why I'm feeling better or if it will last, but it could be any one of the following:

Since my appendix was removed, I have been under very little stress (taking it easy and doing some work from home). Perhaps stress was preventing me from getting better?

While in hospital I was on some general antibiotics for a few days. Perhaps that cleared up the remaining infection? Last Fall, I was on Cipro and it did NOT help.

Maybe somehow my appendicitis was related to my epididymitis? I asked my surgeon if that was possible and he acted doubtful.

Since my surgery, I have stopped taking my herbal remedies. My homeopathic doctor had me on Pulsatilla Pretensis, Zinc Picolinate (with Copper), and Bromelein. Is there a connection?

Maybe it is just a coincidence and that it just takes time to heal.

I don't know, but I'm feeling so much better and I am hoping it doesn't come back.
