Yes, the nerve block was to stop the pain from reporting home to your brain. The surgeon said the nerve from the testicle goes up through you lower torso. He would inject almost at the point where your leg attaches to your torso. (Draw an imaginary line from belly buttom to the top of the penis. Then 1/2 between go perpendicular to the area where the leg is attached.) He used marcaine or one of the same type agents that dentists use.
It made an area several inches down to and including my testicle feel numb, just like your jaw does at the dentist. The numb went away about the same as the dentist. But the pain didn't come back for about 6 weeks. The theory is there is inflammation. Moving causes pain, pain in turn will cause the inflammation to be worse. And no movement will not let fluids drain from the area. So after I had the block, I could move freely (I walked with a limp from the pain), and sure enough the swelling did go down a lot. I had it done twice aver three months. The doc would not do it any more as he felt it was for the inflammation pain. And he felt we needed to find a real reason. When nothing was found I started the herbs. That helped more and more. When I went back to the surgeon, he said, "Wow! what did you do to be so good?" I told him and he said "go for it. Stop the meds I gave you and use the herbs/enzymes. Later on after a relapse, I used the foot patches and gradually got better. It would be something like: But I use the patch occasionally as a preventitve, still rarely ever miss using herbs, do not drive or ride long distances without walking & stretching, don't step off curbs with a "thud". But as you can read on another posting of mine. I was just on a business trip with Disney included and got along fine. |
