Yes, I was told that at one time as well. This was at an age when there was virtually no computers and certainly no internet access. It did nothing for my self confidence because I felt isolated, and a 'freak' because it was so rare, and I was singled out as the only man in the whole world to suffer this.
But when I look at the number of posts / posters on this forum, it has changed my mind big time. I think 'rare' can be used as an ' escape clause' for doctors, by making you feel it is rare, that's a good reason for not being able to help you.
