I agree to the fact that you shouldn't trust doctors, and do your own research. Your life does depend on it. However, I do trust this doctor a lot. While I do not whole heartedly agree that most causes of EP are muscloskeletal, I do agree that EP in men under 40 due to infection is Rare. With the exception of men whom have had vasectomies. I think it is fair to say, that most established members on this site are aware of the many many causes of testicular pain. But think about it.
Most people under the age of 40 are in very good health, and have strong immune systems. And most people with strong immune systems just don't go around getting infections other than maybe some viral infections or STD's. I truely believe that urologists, and most other doctors are just diagnosing EP because it is easier for them to say that's what it is, rather than looking for other causes, such as mechanical issues such as strains and sprains or unstable joints, or prostitis which is more common than EP, or hernias. The fact of the matter is, is that younger healthy people just don't go around getting infections easy. It is modern medicine at it's finest. Medicine has become to modern, with doctors not having a good bedside manner anymore, and too much dependence on complex tests, rather than a very good thourough evaluation, lasting more than 5minutes. |
