Given the nature of what we're talking about here (a sensation as though your beanbag has been squozen in a vice), I would not argue with anyone's decision to take X-amount of supplements and whatnot (I myself take 1-2 grams of vitamin C every day + evening primrose oil). However, if there is any concern over money, I would suggest an overall change in diet before moving on to the rest.
If there is any silver lining to my epididymitis, it is that I now take better care of myself than ever. I walk at least 30 minutes a day, watch almost no television, and have almost completely eliminated polyunsaturated fats and hydrogenated oils and the like from my diet. I eat sardines and soy and all that good stuff. I feel better than ever (now I can live a good long time with painful nuts). Plus, a diet high in good fats and vitamins may reduce inflammation to the point where you don't need to take a bunch of other stuff. A can of sardines is $2, but it provides 50% of your RDA for protein, and it is high in Omega-3s. It's worth trying, if you can't afford the other stuff.
