The answers to most of your questions, from my own personal experiences anyway, can be found in a previous post I made when the doctor who started this board asked us to write essays on how EP has affected our lives. You can find mine by scrolling down the main page until you find a post called "ATTN: Doc, here's my essay 'homework'..." It tells my entire story, for the past 20 years...
I hope this won't sound too blunt here, but if you've only had it for two weeks, you really should count yourself lucky in comparison with the other guys on this board. Personally, I've basically had to sit perfectly still for the past four *months* and the only "sex" I've had in that time has been a few wet dreams that made me scream out loud in pain. There are other guys here who've been in agony for *years* at a stretch, so two weeks doesn't really sound too bad... Pain is pain though, so I hope you're feeling better soon. If yours is being caused by an infection, you might be one of the lucky few who can get cured with just a round or two of antibiotics. With the way EP can go though, two weeks seems like an acute case to me, and hopefully you won't ever reach the chronic stage like the rest of us have. No one knows exactly what causes it, or why it differs so much from man to man, so I don't know of any way you can try to avoid it. It really teaches you patience though since you just have to ride out each episode until it eventually passes... Take care, Bill |
