By cyclical I mean the pain seems to get much worse every 4 or five days. Also it seems to get worse in the evening as well. I suppose we really need to give marks out of ten for the level of pain/discomfort we feel. Yesterday I was sore (7/10) all day and the previous evening. This morning I am much better (2/10) but can still feel it.
I see your point about nerve damage but maybe nerves have some kind of memory or rather the brain is sending out false 'error messages' to the epididymis and thus creating the inflammation.
