The piece below this paragraph was sent as an email to Dr. Hennenfent. The recipe referred to in the book below was actually two teaspoons of powdered Fenugreek and one teaspoon of powdered Fennel. Put in a mug and fill with boiling water. Stir well and cover. Drink the liquid (not the mulch at the bottom) when it has cooled sufficiently. Take twice to three times daily maximum.I have found that Fenugreek works perfectly well on its own. The tea tastes a little bitter and it may take a while to get used to. I think you can add a little honey to sweeten. I should add a disclaimer and state: I have no medical qualifications and not authorised to prescribe any medication whatsoever. I claim no guarantee for the above recipe.
I am writing this email because having suffered extremely from the condition Epididymitis since the age of around 19 ( I am now 44 ) I thought I would at least let you know about the dramatic curative effect I personally have discovered from taking the herb Fenugreek.
It is a long story and I can only summarise it here, but I live in Northern Ireland and having been referred to quite a few Urologists and medics and the usual investigations carried out ( ultra - sound scans etc.) nothing abnormal was found to explain my problem. I was prescribed numerous long courses of the antibiotic Ciproxin with very limited effect. While the doctors were generally sympathetic, they told me as it was'nt cancer I should'nt worry even though I was in severe pain. There was one potential solution, surgical removal of the affected part, but that did'nt appeal much to me either!
I suppose you could say that it was an element of desperation that led me to look for an alternative answer and so although I have no medical qualifications, I began to read on the subject in librarys and bookstores. The more I read the more I realised how difficult a problem this is when the inflammation is chronic, and so the outlook for me was bleak.
It was during a visit to a bookstore in Belfast that I found a book entitled something like " 100 Old Herbal Cures For Common Afflictions". When I searched for Orchitis and Epididymitis it was mentioned and listed the herb Fenugreek. I did'nt pay much attention to it at first because it seemed too simple to work, and as I had tried other herbs and been to professional Herbalists, with limited success, I dismissed it as another book of "Herbal Cure Alls".
During my reading I had become interested in medicinal herbs, and knew that Fenugreek would usually be listed where Catarrh is a problem such as Sinusitis or Earache but never for Epididymitis. I had also discovered by accident when a prescription anti - Catarrh medication was given for a head cold called Sudafed (Pseudoephedrine hydrochloride) that it improved an underlying blocked feeling in the affected Testicle. When I mentioned this to my doctor he said he did'nt know why this could be. Anyhow Sudafed did'nt solve my main problem and when I thought about the Fenugreek I decided why not try. After a few weeks of taking the herb on a twice daily basis it was on one occasion after intercourse had taken place my wife noticed what she termed the seminal fluid was a strange green coloration. I have thought about it since and it was as if a "plug" of mucus had moved or abscess burst but anyway I have been free of recurrent infections and inflammation for over twelve months now.
This is my story and I still take the herb occasionally.
Yours faithfully, John.
