I am not at all sure I agree with your last two notes.
Exercise is widely known to help fight inflammation, infection, and heal chronic injury. You just have to be careful. Cycling is fine as long as you are careful about putting too much wear and tear on your prostate (use correct cycling position, low gears, stand up frequently, get an ergonomic saddle), and only cycle when your condition makes it reasonably possible. As for spicy foods -- cayenne, black pepper, turmeric, curry, and other "hot" spices are all potent anti-inflammatories and very helpful to those with inflammatory conditions like EP.
